The Active Minds Reading Club was founded in 2009 as a Non-Governmental Agency (NGO) by a young woman whose life was impacted by reading.

About Us:


As a child literacy advocacy organization , we aim to afford every Ghanaian child the opportunity to read, write and own a book. We empower children through educational activities and encourage the enrollment and participation of these children in schools, especially the girl child.

We hold reading and writing sessions in underprivileged communities, particularly vulnerable enclaves where children are prone to social vices and girls are mostly school dropouts.

As part of the essence of our Club, we want to cultivate and nourish a reading culture in children, not only as a hobby but to enable children to acquire lifelong literacy skills, own books and pay it forward by passing these skills down to their peers.

We operate with a wide range of volunteers and partners who share in our vision for Child Literacy.
